Climber Techniques, Safety, & Aerial Rescue Training
Throughout this course, we will cover essential climbing techniques and safety practices to enhance your skills and efficiency in the field. From proper climbing methods, body positioning, and gear usage to advanced movement techniques, this training is designed to build confidence and competence for safe tree access and work positioning.
In addition, we will focus on electrical hazard awareness and aerial rescue techniques, providing critical knowledge for identifying and avoiding electrical risks while working aloft. Participants will also gain hands-on experience in performing safe and effective aerial rescues, ensuring they are prepared to respond to emergencies in high-risk environments. This comprehensive course covers it all—from mastering climbing operations to ensuring safety through hazard awareness and rescue readiness.
*All climbing gear and PPE must pass gear inspection to use.

Class Training Topics
Day 1: Climber Operations Techniques & Safety
- Essential climbing techniques and proper body positioning
- Safe and efficient use of climbing gear and equipment
- Advanced movement methods for tree access and work positioning
- Safety protocols and best practices for working aloft
- Risk assessment and hazard identification
Day 2: Electrical Hazard Awareness & Aerial Rescue
- Electrical Hazard Awareness Program (EHAP) – identifying and avoiding electrical risks
- Emergency response planning and risk mitigation strategies
- Hands-on aerial rescue techniques for emergency situations
- Proper use of rescue equipment and safety gear
- Real-world rescue scenarios and team coordination

Gear
- Required (PPE) Personal Protective equipment: ie footwear (boots), helmet, work attire, safety glasses, and ear protection
- Personal climbing gear is optional and must pass gear inspection prior to use.
